(Also why even the politest and nicest compliment on my hair from a guy who “enjoys” hair and that I don’t know already from a forum tends to creep me out. You never know if he goes home to fantasise about something like this after his “polite and nice compliment” about my hair. Yeargh.)

I got into a discussion with a friend about different sleeping positions and how to protect your hair from rubbing and damage. She mentioned there are connections between your sleeping position and your personality. Naturally, I was curious and Googled for it.
None of these really covers me though: I tend to sleep on my sides or stomach with one leg straight and one curled up and both arms up near my pillow but not around it. Sort of a foetus-yearner-freefaller thing?
But I guess its one of those things like bloodtype-starsign-things where you can always find something to recognise in you…
(One or more braids are what work best for me when I sleep. They do get caught under my hips and have wrapped around my neck some times, but buns and other solutions tend to get in my way and interfere with my sleep.)

It irritates me like crazy when people assume my hair grows fast. And it doesn’t seem to matter if I explain it 10 times, 100 times or 1000 times in the same form or forum, sooner or later someone will come along with
“Like, OMG, your hair must grow really totally fast!”
I guess people are just stupid, lazy and prefer feeling some sort of “victimised” instead of taking responsibility for what they do?!
Too stupid to think for themselves.
Too lazy to look a post or comment further ahead.
And much prefer the “Bohoo, I can never get the same head of hair as this woman so I will just keep telling myself she has some sort of hyper-mega-hairgrowth and keep abusing my own hair with bleach and flat irons instead of making the most of the head of hair I could have!” instead of listening to simple advice that actually works.
And even if you do serve the answers on a silver platter, people still prefer their expensive snake oil products. Because, you know, when I keep telling people my hair doesn’t actually grow fast, I must be lying, right?

Seriously, you can’t win with those, can you?
My hairline is slightly asymmetrical, especially down the neck where my left side hairline goes a good
further down in the left side than in the right.
So I was always left with some pieces that either slacked or pulled. I cut them some years ago and have kept trimming them.
But now they are pretty long and I keep considering if I should try to grow them out.
But I ended up cutting them in the first place because they annoyed me so much.
I just can’t win with this one, can I?
There are three options here:
- Attempt to grow them out and see if they really are as annoying as I remember.
- Keep trimming them
- Have my classmate take a look at them whenever I remember to bring my scissor for her. Maybe even wax or shave them to clean it up.
What do you guys think?
